He studied photography and design at the Lette-Verein in Berlin and is primarily known for his detailed and carefully staged portraits of artists, politicians, and athletes. His photographic works have been published on countless album covers, in international editorials and the photographic books Leaving the Comfort Zone (2008) and I Love You but I’ve Chosen Rock (2010), as well as Brazil (2014), and been exhibited at the Camera Work Galerie Berlin, the Museum Folkwang in Essen, the Noorderlicht Fotogalerie in Groningen, and the Icon Gallery in Los Angeles, to name just a few.
Since 1981, ora Kinderhilfe has been helping children and families in need throughout the world. At present it is working in ten countries on four continents. As a Christian development aid organization, its work has three main focuses, sponsorships for children, development cooperation, and disaster relief. It believes that all people have been created and are loved by God and therefore have an inalienable worth.
